How to start this post, without shedding a tear.... There is so much to say and to show. The news dropped 2 days ago, Carrie Bradshaw will not return. The Season 3 of "And Just Like That" will not be reconducted.
Who needs an introduction to this iconic character?
After 6 Seasons of "Sex and The City", and 2 subsequent movies, viewers can/could watch Carrie navigate life's challenges. Am thinking of Big's sudden death, 2 moves, Aidan's return and new friendships (Lisette, Seema).
This blog post explores Carrie’s development in the "And Just Like That" sequel series and highlights her lasting impact on the world of fashion. And let us not forget Shoe!
It Was A New Era for Carrie After All
The return of Carrie in the revival series "And Just Like That" brought back a wave of excitement among fans of "Sex and the City." This beloved character defined a generation of bold fashion lovers, and her latest journey invites new conversations about identity, and style of course.
"And Just Like That" signaled a fresh chapter not just in the life of Carrie, but also in the cultural environment she inhabits. New York City is changing too! As mentioned, there are also new characters in the plot (the list is rather long.....).
Debuting in the late 1990s, in "Sex and the City", Carrie was a trendsetter by 200%. Carrie's groundbreaking fashion choices inspired women across the globe! BOLD!

Fast forward to today, a somehow mature Carrie grapples with real-life issues (this is why some viewers did not like the sequel, btw). Carrie is a successful writer and happy wife to John James Preston (Big), until Big's loss hits her. We then follow her to facing aging (she considers facial surgery, hates to be called "Ma'am" by new young neighbors, she must undergo a hip surgery).
She holds NYC in her hand, but it looks like NYC is evolving. But Carrie does never drop the ball, she is on a podcast radio, lectures at a widow events, volunteer for painting, to finally get to decide to start a new book.
Fashion as Storytelling
Fashion has been a storytelling device throughout both "Sex and the City" and "And Just Like That." Each outfit serves as a reflection of Carrie’s personality and the societal norms she challenges.
In this latest installment, the wardrobe choices lean into vulnerability. Instead of solely playful high-fashion pieces, we see Carrie in more grounded outfits that reflect a deeper understanding of self.

The Appareance of Iconic Shoe Kitten
Carrie's love for shoes has always been a pivotal part of her identity. In "And Just Like That", her love turns and symbolizes through her new companion "Shoe". This aspect of her character takes on deeper layers of meaning.
Every pair of shoes Carrie chooses represents more than just style; they embody her memories, relationships, and even her struggles.
The plot story tells the kitten brought by Che Diaz falls alseep in one of Carrie's shoe box. And Che hands over the cat to Carrie. Which she cannot refuse.

Carrie Bradshaw: A Cultural Icon
As "And Just Like That" unfolds and ends, it becomes clear that Carrie embodies more than just fashion; she represents the complex experiences women undergo throughout their lives.
Her relationship with fashion serves as a reflection of growth and empowerment, capturing the essence of womanhood.
Through a blend of laughter, heart, and self-exploration, "And Just Like That" revives discussions around friendship, fashion, and self-acceptance—reminding us that, like fashion, life is always evolving.
And that Life happens.
